Description

This class will feature the successful Kickstarter project "Apollo", a solar generator that fits on an armband and provides renewable battery life for cell phones and tablets. This class will cover the design specifications of the Apollo, a workshop on putting together a kit, and a discussion on how to add solar power to DIY projects.

Cost

Cost is $108 for materials, including solar panel, rechargeable battery, 1/8" laser-cut acrylic shield, two sturdy Nylon straps with laser-cut fixture holes, three industrial-strength Velcro strips, black cotton armband and assorted adapters. No instructor fee.

One time, 90 minute class.

Prerequisites

Owns a cell phone that constantly runs low on power, has an interest to be less dependent on the power grid and a desire to play carbon-neutral Angry Birds.
